INTERNSHIP
The MBC internship program is straightforward. Our goal is to unveil regular, day-to-day ministry life and provide men (most aspiring to be pastors) with a template for ministry work. Who leads a church? What are their qualifications? Why and how should church membership operate? In addition to being around church life, MBC interns will spend time engaging with theologians from the past.

STRUCTURE OF THE INTERNSHIP
The MBC Ministry Internship exists to develop servant-hearted men who love Christ, think biblically, and live with zeal for God’s glory. Over the course of ten months, interns are immersed in rich theological study, intentional discipleship, and real-life ministry experience. The internship serves men from a variety of backgrounds, whether they are exploring the prospect of pastoral ministry or seeking greater maturity and spiritual development.
Rather than offering a guaranteed path to vocational placement, the internship prioritizes character over career. Interns are challenged through deep reading, thoughtful writing, and robust discussions with pastors and peers on topics such as personal life, marriage and home, theology, practical ministry and discipleship, and pastoral qualifications. At the same time, they are invited into the life of the church to shepherd, lead, and serve.
Our aim is to cultivate humble, faithful men who embody the gospel and are equipped to lead with conviction and compassion, beginning in Costa Mesa and extending to the ends of the earth.

WORKFLOW
Atop the reading and writing assignments, the intern will be expected to observe Elder Meetings, weekly church public worship services and ministry involvement, and pre-service prayer times. The intern can expect a few spontaneous meetings and possible requests to assist pastors on research or writing projects.
We highly encourage interns to schedule one-on-one lunches with church elders, deacons, and staff, allowing for various wisdom and counsel. For the internship, interns must fall under and reside by the Membership Covenant of MBC.

Where are they now:
Over the past ten years, MBC has invested deeply in the lives of many men aiming to serve Christ and His church. While we will not know the full fruits of the Lord's work until heaven, we can rejoice in how the Lord is using faithful men to build His Church. The following men were trained at Mission Bible Church in various capacities, and those training programs have improved into the internship as it stands today.
